20070119 incident

Dear all,

I believe it's my obligation and right to explain what happened on Friday.

Friday morning, we had this 'wrong delivery' situation happened due to one of the staff missed to hand in the paper and wrong selection in the computer.
As a result, all morning, I was tracking down to find out whether it's the only one case or all the delivery went to the wrong person.
About lunch time, the shop staff started to take lunch in turn, as I promised them that after grand open, I'd give them more time to eat.
Therefore, I have to control the number of staff more carefully.
Even we are short of people and recruiting more people at the same time, I personally don't think this kind of reason should become shop staff's responsibility.
So I kept my promise to give them more time to eat.

Therefore, I have to step out in the cashier so that they could go eat.

Around two, the late shift staff came, based on X's request, we should have afternoon meeting.
It's about two o'clock.
I hadn't got a chance to eat yet.
After the meeting, I tried to rearrange the people and told them that we had the delivery today and the most important thing today
is to prepare for the weekend which meant we had to clean up the delivery to the shelf, the under drawers, and the stock room.

Out of the blue, the fire examination group from the government came.
We had to tidy up all the delivery in the fire escape way.
Therefore, I asked the male staff all come to the pathway to help shuffle everything into the stockroom and cabinets as soon as possible.
Everyone was so tired and bit of shock. SOGO's staff came and help as well.
Due to this event, I rearranged the staff flow in the shop.
Once we got in, C went back to the cashier as C was before.
At this time, D was there as I asked D to cover during this event.
We were all still in shock of this event, cause this could be fined up to NT$300000.
Of course, it's all companys' problem, but we had to deal with it, didn't we?
X asked me at this stage that:" who is in the cashier? " (personally guess: hinting why there are two people in the cashier?)

In the afternoon time, I realised that I only got two person for late shift and one person is part-time workers who came not even one week.
SOGO came and talked about the delivery and then they told us that
the security department in SOGO didn't permit our request to get in before 1000 till 28th Feb.
They gave us a deadline till 21st only which is this Sunday.
It's not possible that we could prepare everything within Today.
I had to deal with this situation otherwise it's not possible for us to open the shop on 1100 every morning.

I had a sever and serious headache, and I called W that I would need some rest for the day.
X told me that: " It's okay. I have headache all the time."

During all this mess, I still tried to make some office job and documents and arrange the work shift for Feb,
and talking to SOGO and asked the HQ to solve this problem for us.
What I got from the HQ that afternoon is that "go ask everyone to hand in the photos as soon as possible. 21st is the deadline."

X was not happy about P's performance during that time.
X kept asking me: "why she stood there?" "how long has P been doing that job?"
I told him: "Do you want me to fire P?"

I informed X that we only got two staff for the later shift and we were short of staff.
The reason is that one staff did change the shift due to W's modification but the other didn't.
X's reply is : "BALS can't help."
I guess X miss understood my point, I didn't ask X's help, I just asked X to kindly understand the situation.
I told to everyone in the shop, only P is willingly to stay longer till 2130.
C will stay till closed with condition.

The clock POP arrangement is not satisfied by X.
X requested to re-do them in a bigger POP.
As my calculation of staff number and my arrangement, my judgement and decision is I could personally do this job.
X said:"You are the store manager, you should let the staff do this."

Later, one lady came and wanna buy a pink trash can.
R was serving her and Doris was in the cashier.
R went to the stockroom checking the pink one.
Due to this afternoon's event, everything was blocking the way to get in.
R wasn't sure whether we actually have stocking or not.
R asked D in the cashier. D wasn't sure about this so D suggested him to check the stocking in the system.

The system said that we have 3 stocking in the stockroom.
Due to the blocking, R wasn't sure what to do.
So R asked me about this situation.
As a store manager, my staff has something he/she can't handle.
I have to help him/her.
Therefore, I told the lady that: "Due to the fire escape inspection this afternoon, it will take us a bit longer time to find what you need.
If you don't mind give us more time, we will find out the pink one for you."
She replied: "Okay then I will look around and come back later."
So I told R to dig out the pink trash can for her.
X had another opinion:"Why do you need three person to serve the customer?"
I explained the situation to X.
X said: "Aren't you short of staff now? Doesn't company care about sales now?"
Personally, due to B' customer no 1 policy, I didn't see anything wrong with this event.
I told X:" If you have problem with company, talk to the manager."
X said:"Don't you work for company?"
I told X:"I will leave."

So I called W and told X that:" I can't work like this. I quitted."
I left.

That is what happened on Friday.

As a conclusion, I am not good enough for this job and I don't think I should stay in this position
that a better person or quoted X's word "BEST" person couldn't do the job.
I will officially hand in my personal resignment later next week.
